What to Expect From Delivery to Installation
Bringing a new bathroom vanity into your home should feel exciting—not complicated. At Chyanmoo, we want to make the process from delivery to installation as clear and straightforward as possible.
Whether you’ve chosen a freestanding vanity or a floating vanity, this guide will help you understand how your order may arrive, what to check before installation, how to prepare your bathroom, and what to do if you need assistance.
|
Before you begin |
How It Works
From the moment your order is placed to the final installation, the typical process includes six simple steps:
1. Order Confirmed — Your order is successfully received.
2. Order Prepared — Your vanity is prepared and packaged for shipment.
3. Shipped — Tracking information becomes available once the carrier receives your package.
4. Delivered — One or more packages arrive at your shipping address.
5. Inspect — Check all cartons and product components before installation.
6. Install — Prepare your bathroom, install the vanity, connect plumbing, and complete a final inspection.

1. Your Vanity May Arrive in Multiple Packages
Bathroom vanities are larger and more complex than ordinary parcel shipments. Depending on the model you purchase, your order may be divided into more than one package.
For example, the following components may be packaged separately:
· Vanity cabinet
· Sink
· Countertop
· Hardware or accessories
This helps reduce the risk of damage during transportation and makes individual components easier to protect.
Packages May Arrive Separately
If your order includes multiple tracking numbers, the packages may not arrive on the same day. It is possible for the vanity cabinet to arrive first and the sink or countertop to arrive later.
This does not necessarily mean part of your order is missing. Before contacting customer support, check all tracking numbers associated with your order.

2. Prepare Your Bathroom Before Delivery

Good preparation can make installation significantly easier. Before your vanity arrives, measure your bathroom carefully and confirm that the selected vanity fits your available space.
Check the:
· Width
· Depth
· Height
But don’t stop with the cabinet dimensions. You should also check the surrounding area.
Door Clearance
Make sure the bathroom door can open fully after the vanity is installed.
Cabinet Door Clearance
Confirm that vanity doors will not hit nearby walls, toilets, shower enclosures, or other fixtures.
Drawer Clearance
Make sure drawers have enough space to open completely.
Plumbing Location
Check the position of the hot-water supply, cold-water supply, and drain pipe. These locations should be compatible with the interior layout of your vanity.
Electrical Outlets
Make sure electrical outlets and switches are not blocked by the vanity or countertop.
Baseboards
Existing baseboards may prevent the vanity from sitting completely flush against the wall.
Mirror Height
Consider the relationship between the vanity, faucet, backsplash, mirror, and lighting.
3. Measure Twice Before Installation
Before installation, compare the actual vanity dimensions with your bathroom space one more time.
Vanity Width
The total distance from the left side to the right side.
Vanity Depth
The distance from the wall to the front edge of the vanity.
Vanity Height
The total height of the cabinet and countertop after installation.
Also leave enough space for doors and drawers to operate normally. A vanity that technically fits the room may still create problems if nearby doors, toilets, walls, or plumbing interfere with normal use.
4. Prepare for Delivery Day
Bathroom vanities can be large and heavy. Before delivery, make sure there is a clear path from your home entrance to the bathroom or staging area.
· Entry doors
· Hallways
· Staircases
· Elevators
· Bathroom doors
Remove fragile items or unnecessary obstacles from the pathway. If you have finished flooring, consider protecting the floor while unpacking and moving the vanity.
5. Inspect the Package Before Opening

When your vanity arrives, don’t immediately throw away the packaging. First, inspect the outside of every carton.
Look for:
· Severe dents
· Crushed corners
· Large tears
· Punctures
· Water damage
· Unusual deformation
Minor marks on the outer carton do not always mean that the product inside is damaged. However, if the packaging shows significant damage, take photos before opening it.
6. Take Photos Before Unpacking
If the shipping carton appears damaged, photograph:
· The entire carton
· The damaged area
· The shipping label
· Any visible holes or crushed corners
These photos can be helpful if you need assistance later. When opening the package, avoid cutting too deeply with a knife or other sharp tool. The product may be positioned close to the carton wall.
7. Inspect the Vanity Before Installation

Once the package is open, inspect all major components carefully.
Cabinet
Inspect the cabinet body, corners, side panels, doors, and drawer fronts.
Doors
Make sure doors appear properly aligned and open normally.
Drawers
Open and close the drawers carefully and check their movement.
Sink
Inspect the sink surface and edges for visible damage.
Countertop
Check the countertop surface, corners, edges, and faucet-hole area.
Hardware
Compare the included hardware with the installation instructions.

Important: Inspect Before Installing |
8. Keep Your Original Packaging
We strongly recommend keeping all cartons, foam, protective materials, and shipping labels until all packages have arrived and you have confirmed that the entire order is complete and undamaged.
Original packaging may be helpful if a shipping or product issue needs to be reviewed.
9. What to Do If Your Vanity Arrives Damaged
If you discover significant damage, stop installation of the affected component.
Take clear photos showing:
· The entire product
· The damaged area
· The shipping carton
· The shipping label
· The protective packaging around the damaged area
When contacting customer support, include your:
· Order number
· Product name
· Description of the issue
· Photos
The more clearly the issue is documented, the easier it is for our team to review.
10. Before Installation
After confirming that your order is complete and undamaged, read the installation instructions included with your specific vanity.
Every bathroom is different. Installation requirements can vary depending on:
· Vanity style
· Wall construction
· Plumbing layout
· Floor condition
· Sink configuration
· Faucet configuration
The instructions provided with your product should always take priority over general guidance.
11. Tools You May Need
Depending on your installation, common tools may include:
· Tape measure
· Level
· Pencil
· Screwdriver
· Drill
· Adjustable wrench
· Stud finder
· Bathroom-grade sealant
Your specific bathroom may require additional tools or materials.
12. Freestanding Vanity Installation

A freestanding bathroom vanity is supported primarily by the floor, making it a familiar installation style for many bathrooms.
Step 1 — Position the Vanity
Place the cabinet in the intended installation area. Check the position relative to walls, plumbing, doors, and surrounding fixtures.
Step 2 — Check the Level
Use a level to verify that the cabinet is sitting correctly. Bathroom floors may not be perfectly level, so adjustments may be necessary.
Step 3 — Check Plumbing Alignment
Make sure the drain and water supply lines can connect properly.
Step 4 — Secure the Cabinet
Follow the product instructions for any required cabinet securing or wall attachment.
Step 5 — Position the Sink or Countertop
If your sink or countertop is shipped separately, carefully place it in position. Confirm alignment before applying adhesive or sealant.
Step 6 — Install Faucet and Drain Components
Install appropriate faucet and drain components according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Step 7 — Connect Plumbing
Connect the hot-water supply, cold-water supply, and drain.
Step 8 — Seal Where Necessary
Apply suitable bathroom-grade sealant in appropriate areas.
Step 9 — Test for Leaks
Run water and inspect all connections before regular use.
13. Floating Vanity Installation

Floating vanities create a modern, open appearance by mounting the cabinet above the floor. Because the cabinet is supported by the wall, proper structural support is essential.
Check the Wall Structure
Before installation, determine where appropriate structural support is located. Depending on the wall and product, this may involve:
· Wall studs
· Structural blocking
· Appropriate mounting hardware
· Other suitable support
Do not rely only on the visible drywall or decorative wall surface.
Why Proper Wall Support Matters
A floating vanity must support more than the empty cabinet. The installed structure may also support the weight of:
· Sink
· Countertop
· Faucet
· Bathroom products
· Items stored in drawers
· Items stored inside the cabinet
Correct installation is therefore extremely important. If you are uncertain about the wall structure or mounting method, professional installation is recommended.
14. Check Plumbing Before Final Installation
Before permanently securing the vanity, confirm the location of your:
· Hot-water line
· Cold-water line
· Drain pipe
Plumbing locations vary from home to home. If the existing plumbing does not align with the vanity configuration, consult a qualified professional before making major modifications to the cabinet.
15. Installing the Sink & Countertop
If the countertop or sink arrives separately, inspect it before installation. Place it on a clean and protected surface.
Before permanently attaching it, check:
· Orientation
· Position
· Sink alignment
· Faucet-hole location
· Countertop overhang
· Cabinet alignment
Confirm everything fits correctly before applying sealant or adhesive.
16. Faucet Installation
If the vanity does not include a faucet, make sure the faucet you select is compatible with the sink or countertop.
· Number of faucet holes
· Hole spacing
· Faucet height
· Faucet reach
· Drain compatibility
· Supply-line length
Compatibility should be confirmed before final installation.
17. Protect the Cabinet During Installation
Renovation and plumbing work can easily scratch finished surfaces. Avoid placing:
· Drills
· Screws
· Metal tools
· Plumbing fittings
· Sharp objects
directly on the countertop or cabinet. Use a clean towel, protective mat, cardboard, or other suitable material while working.
18. When to Consider Professional Installation
Professional installation is especially recommended when:
· Plumbing needs to be relocated
· Installing a floating vanity
· Wall reinforcement is required
· Electrical work is involved
· The floor is significantly uneven
· The wall is significantly uneven
· The vanity is large or heavy
· You are unfamiliar with plumbing work
Always follow applicable local building, plumbing, and electrical requirements.
19. Final Installation Check

Check That the Vanity Is Stable
The cabinet should feel secure and should not rock or move. For floating vanities, check that the mounting feels stable.
Check Doors & Drawers
Open and close every door and drawer. They should operate smoothly without hitting walls, door frames, plumbing, or nearby fixtures.
Check Plumbing Connections
Run water and inspect:
· Faucet connections
· Supply lines
· Drain connections
· P-trap
· Area under the sink
Watch carefully for moisture or slow leaks.
Check Sealant
Inspect areas that require sealing around the sink, countertop, or wall.
20. Check Again During the First Few Days
After installation, inspect the plumbing area periodically during the first few days of use. Look underneath the sink and around water connections for any signs of moisture.
A small plumbing leak can cause significant cabinet damage if it remains unnoticed for a long period of time.
Caring for Your New Bathroom Vanity
Bathroom vanities are designed for bathroom environments, but they should still be treated as furniture rather than as fully waterproof structures.
· Wipe away standing water
· Clean spills promptly
· Avoid excessive moisture
· Maintain normal bathroom ventilation
· Avoid harsh abrasive cleaners
· Do not leave wet towels directly on cabinet surfaces for extended periods

Delivery & Installation FAQ

Will My Vanity Arrive in One Package?
Not always. Depending on the model, your cabinet, sink, countertop, or other components may be shipped separately. Multiple tracking numbers may therefore be provided for one order.
What Should I Do If Only One Package Arrives?
Check all tracking numbers associated with your order. Packages shipped as part of the same order may still arrive on different days.
Should I Install My Vanity Immediately?
We recommend inspecting all packages and components first. Make sure your order is complete and free from significant shipping damage before beginning installation.
Should I Keep the Shipping Boxes?
Yes. Keep the original packaging until all packages have arrived and the product has been fully inspected.
What Should I Do If the Shipping Box Is Damaged?
Photograph the carton before opening it, then inspect the product inside carefully. If the product is damaged, keep the packaging and contact Chyanmoo Customer Support.
What Photos Should I Take If Something Is Damaged?
Take photos of the entire product, damaged area, shipping carton, shipping label, and protective packaging. Include your order number when contacting support.
Can I Install the Vanity Myself?
Some installations may be suitable for experienced DIY customers. More complex installations, particularly floating vanities or installations requiring plumbing changes, may benefit from professional installation.
Does a Floating Vanity Need Structural Wall Support?
Yes. Floating vanities must be attached to suitable structural support. The correct installation method depends on your wall construction and vanity model.
Can I Modify the Cabinet for Plumbing?
Minor plumbing accommodation may sometimes be necessary depending on the bathroom. Significant cabinet modifications should not be made without first confirming the plumbing requirements and installation method.
Do I Need a Professional Installer?
Professional installation is not required for every situation. However, we recommend considering professional assistance when structural mounting, plumbing relocation, electrical work, or complex installation is involved.
